THE GREAT HEMP HOAX

A recent analysis of 104 so-called "hemp" products from 68 brands uncovered a public health crisis in California's unregulated hemp market. The white paper, The Great Hemp Hoax, revealed that 95 percent of tested products contained chemically synthesized cannabinoids, which are prohibited in California.​​

• 95% of tested products contained prohibited synthetic cannabinoids linked to serious health risks

• 91% were sold with no sales and use tax

• 88% failed California hemp standards

• 56% exceeded federal hemp THC limits

• Nearly half of the tested products contained THCP, a synthetic compound up to 30 times more potent than natural THC
